Serviceability & ZIP Coverage
DashLink serviceable ZIP codes determine whether an address is eligible for parcel delivery.
Serviceability affects quote outcomes, create-delivery failures, and delivery-time calculations.
ZIP Code Updates
DashLink's ZIP coverage list updates once per quarter, and merchants should expect additions and removals.
If you do not rely on the quote endpoint to validate serviceability, you must maintain your own ZIP-coverage logic and ensure:
- Updates can be applied quickly
- Failed deliveries caused by outdated ZIP lists are minimized
- Coverage mismatches are logged and safely handled
Best Practices
- Use the quote endpoint to validate serviceability in real time
- Build processes to easily update ZIP coverage quarterly
- Ensure your checkout flow rejects non-serviceable addresses upstream
- Anticipate partial-coverage regions (DashLink does not service all contiguous U.S. ZIPs)
