In the DoorDash Marketplace ecosystem, a provider is a merchant or organization—such as a restaurant or retailer—that integrates with DoorDash to offer goods or services to customers.

For example, if you are a middleware provider, the provider name should mirror your company name. For example, if your name company is MiddleCo, you might choose middleco_testing.

If you are a merchant (restaurant), you should name the provider after your restaurant. For example, if your restaurant name is Super Tacos, you might choose super_tacos.

To create a test provider:

  1. Go to https://developer.doordash.com/portal/integration/marketplace/get_started.
  2. In the left navigation, click Providers.
  3. Click Create provider.
  4. On the Set up a provider page, select Sandbox. (You'll be able to select Production later.)
  5. Enter a provider name. The extension _sandbox will automatically be appended.
  6. Click Configure provider.
